Welcome to the field trip signup page for our Boise River site!
If you aren’t quite sure what this project is all about, read our Boise River Project page and FAQ page before continuing.
We offer two options for visiting our river site:
1) Drop-in: Families and small groups (less than 10 people) can drop in any time during posted public banding dates. See summer 2017 dates. Additional banding dates will be added here throughout the season.
2) Groups: Scheduled educational field trips for groups (approx. 15-30 visitors) such as schools, outdoor groups, or clubs. We can also visit your school or club to give educational presentations on a variety of topics.
Fall 2017 banding:
This year–along with our regular bird banding field trips–we are offering a variety of other activities that you can choose from, including:
- noise pollution research and activities
- phenology monitoring
- habitat exploration
- birdwatching walks
- insect sampling
- camera trap mammal research
We have a number of games and activities that can be tailored to different age groups and various topics you are covering in the classroom. The site is also excellent for water quality sampling if you already have a kit to do so.
Teachers and group leaders, after registering on Eventbrite, please contact us for more information if you’d like to do additional activities. IBOvisitors@gmail.com
